Apex Legends Tournament Hacked Mid Game

Estimated read time 3 min read

The recent Apex Legends tournament was hacked by disrupters while mid-game!

Apex regional finals were majorly disrupted when players were hacked mid-game!

But lets take a closer look at how this happened and what this means for the regionals.

Major Apex Legends Tournament Hacked During Tournament

Players and onlookers were shocked today as, during the Apex Legends regionals, something major happened.

More than a few players were hacked mid-game. This led to the tournament being postponed until further notice.

Last weekend, Apex regional finals were taking place. But during the majors, players such as ImperialHal and Genburten were gifted hacks during their runs.

Genburten was able to see through walls and every other player in the game. While ImperialHals aim went from professional to godlike with what appears to be a very abashid aimbot!

These players immediately let everyone else know and abandoned the match. More than these two were affected, and the match as a whole came to an abrupt halt.

So far, no one group has been confirmed to be the hackers behind this. Probably not as autonomous as some jokers expect. Or at least I hope they are joking!

Perhaps the infamous lizard squad has made a comeback! I hope so because that means a new great video intro like last time.

But in all seriousness, the North Regional Finals have been postponed until further notice. This is very unfortunate news for all players and spectators enjoying the matches.

Due to the competitive integrity of this series being compromised, we have made the decision to postpone the NA finals at this time.
We will share more information soon.

In the meantime, EA has issued warnings for all players involved. Just to be on the safe side, maybe everyone should change their details. If these guys have access to pros mid-game, they may have a larger pool of casual players in their hands as well.

Hopefully, EA can get this resolved and get the regionals back into gear.

Apex Legends

Apex Legends is a free-to-play battle royale-hero shooter game developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts. It was released for PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One in February 2019, for Nintendo Switch in March 2021, and for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in March 2022.

A mobile version of the game designed for touchscreens, titled Apex Legends Mobile, was released in May 2022 on Android and iOS. The game supports cross-platform play, excluding the aforementioned mobile platforms.

Before the match, players form two- or three-player squads and select from pre-designed characters with distinctive abilities, known as Legends. The game has two gameplay modes. In Battle Royale, up to 20 three-person squads or 30 two-person duos land on an island and search for weapons and supplies before attempting to defeat all other players in combat. The available play area on the island shrinks over time, forcing players to keep moving or else find themselves outside the play area, which can be fatal.

The final team alive wins the round. In Arenas, players form three-player squads and fight against another squad in a 3v3 team deathmatch over a series of rounds to determine the winner of the match. Teams win when their team has at least 3 points and is 2 points ahead.
