This TFT Patch Notes 14.9 of Inkborn Fables introduces a whopping 20 new Artifacts, 5 new Support Items, and a slew of system changes.

While the sheer volume of content might be daunting, don’t worry – we’ll break it all down for you here.

You can check out the full list of changes in the official patch notes.

Vanguard in TFT Patch Notes 14.9

TFT Patch Notes 14.9 brings Riot’s anti-cheat system, Vanguard, to the game.

League of Legends details the official reasoning in a separate blog, but TFT players will ultimately benefit.

Installing Vanguard is simple and required to continue playing on PC, and the patch notes offer troubleshooting resources in case of any issues.

System Changes in TFT Patch Notes 14.9

Player Damage

TFT Patch Notes 14.9 are addressing how much damage players take throughout the game.

They originally aimed to streamline damage calculation in patch 14.8, but it ended up making matches a bit longer.

To fix this, they’re increasing the damage penalty for losing in stages 4-6.

  • Stage Player Damage: 0/2/5/7/9/11/17/150 ⇒ 0/2/5/8/10/12/17/150

Levelling Costs

TFT Patch Notes 14.9 focuses on shaking up the meta by making it more expensive to reach level 9.

This change aims to curb players who consistently aim for 3-star, 4-cost champions.

Finally, leveling to 10 becomes slightly cheaper, encouraging players to consider it as a strategic option compared to always rolling at level 9.

  • Level 8 to 9: 72g ⇒ 80g
  • Level 9 to 10: 84g ⇒ 80g

Shop Roll Odds

  • Level 8: 18/25/32/22/3 ⇒ 18/27/32/20/3
  • Level 9: 10/20/25/35/10 ⇒ 15/20/25/30/10

Encounters

TFT Patch Notes 14.9 is taking aim at certain Encounters that have been causing significant gameplay disruptions. Devs are either removing them entirely or making them much rarer.

They are slightly increasing the chances of encountering the rare, engaging, and balanced Encounters players love.

Get ready for a more dynamic and unpredictable TFT experience!

Artifact Anvils

In a move to increase flexibility and choice, Artifact Anvils have been reworked in Patch 14.9.

Players will now be presented with four Artifact options to choose from, rather than the previous three.

  • Artifact Item Anvils are now pick 1 of 4 (were pick 1 of 3)
  • Portable Forge changed to pick 1 of 4 Artifacts and is available at all Stages
  • Removed the Augments Portable Forge+ and Portable Forge++ as they are no longer necessary

Traits Changes in TFT Patch Notes 14.9

In the TFT Patch Notes 14.9 some powerful compositions are getting adjusted.

Dryad is being toned down to make it less dominant, especially for itemless champions like Azir.

A bug with Sett’s Fated trait is being fixed, resulting in a slight nerf overall.

Heavenly is getting reworked to be a stronger vertical trait with its own carries like Kha’Zix and Soraka.

Finally, underperforming Umbral trait receives buffs to its execute damage and its 3-cost champion Alune.
