The Minecraft movie has wrapped filming

The live-action Minecraft movie starring Jack Black and Jason Momoa is planned for a release in April 2025. At the end of December, the movie began production in New Zealand and it looks like they are already done filming.

An image shared online by DiscussingFilm of Jack Black, Jason Momoa, and others involved with the film indicates they are already done filming the live-action Minecraft movie.

Set props from the live-action Minecraft movie have been spotted only recently making us believe things were only just getting started. Jared Hess is the Director for the first Minecraft movie who is known for his work on Napoleon Dynamite and other films.

The Minecraft movie isn’t the only upcoming video game adaptation coming to theaters within the next year. By the end of 2024, we will see the release of the Borderlands movie and Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
