Sea of Thieves is going to be the fourth Xbox game coming to PlayStation 5 this year on April 30 and it will take advantage of what the PS5 has to offer. Rare has confirmed that Sea of Thieves on PS5 will be optimized to run at 60 FPS in 4K resolution and it will have an additional performance mode available for supported TV’s allowing for 120Hz refresh rates at 1080p resolution.

Before you ask questions, the Xbox Series X users have already been enjoying these performance modes for a few years now. This information comes from the official Sea of Thieves FAQ which Rare set up on their website that also shares the other benefits the pirate adventure will have when it comes to PlayStation 5.

Sea of Thieves will support the PlayStation 5 DualSense controller that includes several of its unique features like Haptics, Adaptive Triggers, and Built-In Microphone and Speaker.

PlayStation players are certainly hyped for Sea of Thieves as it became the #1 most pre-ordered game on the PS5 Store in the United States. Those on PS5 will have to purchase the former Xbox exclusive for only $39.99 USD, but if you play on Xbox Series X|S or PC, you can play the game via Game Pass.

In its history, Sea of Thieves reached over 25 million players in 2021 thanks to the Xbox Game Pass service and with it being on another platform it should reach even higher.
