According to what we have received online, the new Pokemon GO Mega Evolution should be available starting from April 13th and will feature Heracross as the protagonist. Marking, therefore, an important moment for the game, since we will have a new evolution that can be used during your battles.

The first thing to say is that you essentially have to forget about how Mega Evolutions work in the other mainline games in the series. In Pokemon GO, in fact, they work completely differently.
In order to use Mega Evolutions in Pokemon GO, you must be able to acquire enough Mega Energy. But how do you get it? There are several ways you can bet on, all three very effective. The first is to win Mega Raid Battles; alternatively, you can opt to walk accompanied by specific Pokemons, or complete certain quests.
As for the duration, they last for more or less eight hours and give you the possibility of having a great boost in battles. For this reason, if you have to compete in a difficult battle, it is worth using Mega Evolutions. You will certainly be more advantaged and will have a greater chance of emerging victorious from the battle.
How many Mega Evolutions are still missing?
Considering that the Mega Heracross Evolution will be introduced soon, there are still 9 evolutions that have not been added to the game. Let’s see together what it is:

- Mega Mewtwo X

- Mega Sharpedo
At the moment, unfortunately, there is no news on when and if these Mega Evolutions will be introduced in Pokemon GO. However, since most of them have been added, it is very likely that we will see the addition of these missing ones over time.
To be honest, even in the case of Heracross there has not yet been a real official announcement, but Niantic has published a video in which all the clues lead precisely to this hypothesis.
