Elden Ring legendary armaments: where to find

Estimated read time 4 min read

The Elden Ring legendary armaments are nine unique weapons that players will want to find for a snazzy achievement.

The requirements for what counts as a legendary armament in Elden Ring can seem pretty unclear. After all, there are a plethora of fancy weapons, and the boss weapons from trading in Remembrances are much more obviously impressive.

For anyone looking for the Legendary Armaments trophy or achievement, heres a cheat sheet list to clarify confusion.

Elden Ring legendary armaments: what are the nine?

The nine weapons are:

The Ruins Greatsword drops after the Tarnished defeats the Misbegotten Warrior and Crucible Knight dual boss in Redmane Castle.

The Eclipse Shotel is a curved sword that scales with Faith and Dexterity. Its found at a church altar in the southeast corner of Castle Sol in the Mountaintop of the Giants, very late in the game.

The Grafted Blade Greatsword is most likely the first Legendary Armament players will find in Elden Ring. Tarnished will find this Game of Thrones reference wielded by the Leonine Misbegotten boss at the end of Castle Morne.

The infamous Sword of Night and Flame dominated the early Elden Ring patches as one of the most popular Legendary Armaments. In fact, it was powerful enough to get balance adjustments.

However, even after nerfs, the Sword is viable for most builds since it scales with Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence and Faith. This means players should still head over to Caria Manor and grab this blade from a chest.

  • Marais Executioners Sword

The telekinetic lightsaber that ended many Tarnished lives, the Marais Executioners Sword is the signature weapon of Elemer of the Briar, AKA the infamous Bell-Bearing Hunter. Tarnished can get their hands on this brutish Strength/Arcane greatsword by defeating Elemers true form at the Shaded Castle.

The FromSoft signature returns with a new umbral form. The Dark Moon Greatsword is a Strength/Intelligence weapon that is the reward and wedding gift from Ranni at the climax of her questline at the Moonlight Altar.

This is likely the last Legendary Armament players will find in Elden Ring. After all, this gigantic Strength/Faith hammer drops from the invader Bernahl who ambushes Tarnished in the penultimate area, Crumbling Farum Azula.

The Golden Order Greatsword is one of the more obscure Elden Ring weapons among the Legendary Armaments. This is because its held by the Misbegotten Crusader, boss of the Cave of the Forlorn in a corner of the Consecrated Snowfields.

This weapon is hidden in plain sight. Players can find this by navigating the enormous dragon corpse in Leyndell, Royal Capital. This Strength/Dexterity weapon has some fun lightning attacks and does extra damage against draconic enemies.

What are the missable weapons?

Elden Ring players can obtain most of the Legendary Armament just by getting to the right place. Sometimes, theyll also have to beat the local boss. However, we acknowledge that some weapons have extra steps that Tarnished have to complete.

The boss holding the Ruins Greatsword only spawns in the final room of Redmane Castle if the Radahn Festival isnt ongoing. This means that players have to grab it either before obtaining half of the Dectus Medallion or before progressing Rannis questline. Otherwise, theyll have to defeat Starscourge Radahn to end the festival.

The Dark Moon Greatsword requires Tarnished to go through Rannis quest. However, its a moot point since players can only reach the Moonlight Altar area by progressing her questline.

Finally, the Bolt of Gransax is the most easily missed weapon, since it does have a time limit of sorts. If players defeat Maliketh the Black Blade, they obtain the Rune of Death and trigger the final act. As a result, Leyndell transforms into Leyndell, Capital of Ash.

This means the level completely changes, and ash will bury the Bolt of Gransax (among other items). If this happens, players can no longer obtain the Legendary Armaments achievement until their next Elden Ring playthrough.

Thats about it for limitations on this achievement. While there is the new DLC on the horizon, we dont expect it to have any effect on the base games achievements.
