According to reports, Stellar Blade’s sales are “exceeding expectations.” Since its exclusive PlayStation 5 release on April 26, the game has topped the charts in some areas, and in recent weeks, this post-apocalyptic horror game has undergone an incredible surge in popularity, which has truly elevated ShiftUp to a whole new level. And thanks to this surge, ShiftUp seems to be considering the prospects of a sequel as well as a Stellar Blade PC port.

All of this information was obtained from the most recent financial report of Shift Up, which X user KAMI tweeted. Apart from the Stellar Blade PC version and a sequel, plans for post-launch updates and downloadable material are included in the document, along with further mention of the possible PC release.

Regarding Stellar Blade’s multiplatform future, Shift Up has stated that they are “considering producing a PC version” and a sequel, drawing comparisons between the game’s “great potential” as a franchise and popular games like God of War and Final Fantasy. Now, given that the report mentions the goal of “a long-term revenue base through a series of high-quality sequels,” we may even get several Stellar Blade sequels.

Meanwhile, the company’s global one-build approach allows for simultaneous global updates to ensure a consistent game experience for users and rapid deployment of content at a low cost.”

Apart from Stellar Blade, ShiftUp is working on Project Witches, a new IP-based game that will launch in 2027 at the latest. They feel that, in contrast to other game firms that are restricted to using just existing intellectual properties, they will be able to grow sustainably through their ability to create new intellectual properties that can be profitable without depending on current intellectual rights.

But before you get too excited about another flawlessly rendered action RPG along the lines of Stellar Blade, it appears that Project Witches will be a multi-platform gacha game more akin to Nikke. In a statement, the company stated, “We have very high expectations for Project Witches as the next-generation mega subculture IP that will surpass Goddess of Victory: Nikke.”
