Review: Turtle Beach Stealth 600 (Gen 3)

Estimated read time 5 min read

Turtle Beach is back with new gaming headsets to take your experience to the next level. They released the Stealth 500, a great headset for its price, and also introduced the Stealth 600 (Gen 3) headset. Turtle Beach continues to impress with more quality products and the Stealth series proves it once more.

The Stealth 600 (Gen 3) gaming headset is priced at $99.99, which is only $20 more than the Stealth 500 headset, and the difference is noticeable. Let’s go over some of the features of the latest Stealth 600 headset.

Turtle Beach Stealth 600 (Gen 3) Key Features

Multiplatform Wireless + Bluetooth

You can use the Stealth 600 across multiple platforms with 2.4GHz Wireless and Bluetooth 5.2 on Xbox, PlayStation, PC, or Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, and mobile devices.

Amplified 50mm Nanoclear Drivers

Turtle Beach’s precision-tuned 50mm Nanoclear drivers deliver vibrant spatial audio to hear every game as it was intended to sound. Plus, exclusive to the Stealth 600 PC mode, PC gamers can tune every aspect of their audio with Waves 3D Audio via the Swarm II app.

A.I.-Based Mic Noise Reduction

This feature is completely redesigned for the third generation of Stealth 600. The unidirectional, flip-to-mute microphone features A.I. noise reduction for the quietest background possible.

80-Hours Battery Life

With the 80-hour battery life, you won’t have to stress about your gaming sessions and when you do need to charge the Stealth 600 it has a quick charge capability.

Stealth 600 Is Even More Comfortable & Secure

As mentioned in our review of the Stealth 500, it’s a comfortable headset resting on your ears. The Stealth 600 is a step above it with a strong headband that goes over your head and hair without messing with it. That is a very small aspect of this headset, but I feel it’s worth pointing out.

The most important feature is the ear cushions themselves. They are made of Athletic Weave Fabric and Memory Foam. They feel more secure and, of course, the quality of the foam is better than the Stealth 500. There is a noticeable difference once you start using the Stealth 600.

For people who wear glasses, it’s great to wear this headset without worrying about it ruining their glasses or being too tight, especially since it’s designed to be glasses-friendly. I have to wear glasses all day long and I haven’t noticed any issues with wearing the Stealth 600 (Gen 3).

Performance

The performance matters most when you purchase a headset because as gamers we play for hours and hope to take out our competition in any game we play. The Stealth 600 enhances your gaming experience by providing clear audio for footsteps, gunshots, and other game-related sounds in titles like Call of Duty, Apex Legends, and Fortnite.

I’m impressed not only by the audio quality but also by the ability to enhance the sound of your microphone. Turtle Beach products typically come with software that allows you to adjust audio levels and choose presets for different games, and with the Stealth 600 headset, you can modify the microphone settings to your liking.

The Swarm II App which is available only on PC allows you to customize how you want your game audio to sound and how you want your microphone to sound. You can simply use the Signature Sound, but if you want to sound Smooth you can do that or even you can mess with the equalizer yourself. You are practically given the keys to the headset to create your own experience.

Being able to adjust the microphone settings doesn’t guarantee that it will perform at the same level as a high-end microphone. When you buy a $100 headset, there are bound to be downsides, and I believe this is the most significant one. Also, the microphone is smaller than others but lacks the flexibility to move closer to your mouth or adjust as needed.

With Stealth 600 you can create an audio preset for a game so if I wanted to create one for MultiVersus I can create one for that and then make one for FPS titles. The options are endless with the Swarm II app and it’s an unbeatable feature from Turtle Beach.

The 80-hour battery life has been really useful. I’ve been using this headset for about 2 weeks straight and I still have 39% battery left. Although I haven’t been gaming as much as others might, it’s reassuring to know that I don’t have to constantly worry about charging them.

Just like the lower model, the Stealth 600 (Gen 3) headset has the hotkey options to mute the mic, turn off the volume, or even Superhuman Hearing.

Is The Stealth 600 (Gen 3) A Must Buy?

I’ve found that the Stealth 600 (Gen 3) headset is most beneficial for PC gamers. While it works well on consoles too, I’ve had the best experience using it on PC because of the Swarm II app, which allows me to customize my audio settings for different situations.

With the amount of money you will spend on this headset you are investing in the audio more than the quality of the microphone. And sometimes that is just fine because for solo gamers out there this is perfect.

I might consider purchasing the latest headset from Turtle Beach if you’re looking to upgrade without spending too much.

You can purchase the Stealth 600 (Gen 3) headset on Amazon or at your local retailers.
