Black Ops 6 will not launch for Nintendo Switch

Call of Duty games will be coming to Nintendo consoles eventually based on an agreement Microsoft made with the company when acquiring Activision. The deal between Microsoft and Nintendo was to put Call of Duty games on the Nintendo platform for the next 10 years and it could have started this year, but the Switch most likely can’t run on the console.

Will Black Ops 6 come to Nintendo Switch?

While Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4, don’t expect this year’s Call of Duty game to arrive on the Nintendo Switch this Fall. While that might seem like a bummer, Nintendo is preparing to reveal its Switch Successor by the end of March 31, 2025, and it’s rumored the console will be as powerful as a PS4 Pro to an Xbox Series S. That would mean it could run games like Call of Duty in the future.

It seems Nintendo is preparing for the Switch 2 with the release of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door having an option for 4K resolution. The current Switch is not capable of running games in 4K so that could be an indicator that the Switch 2 will be that powerful.

As of now, Black Ops 6 will launch for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
